So you decide to go natural, or as some accurately say, “Return natural.” Great! Now how do you maintain it? Obviously, your natural hair will need some help in the form of reliable hair products. Enter the Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus line of products. Why did I choose this line in the first place? Well, as a new Naturalista I learned the importance of reading the ingredient labels when shopping for hair care. This line as the name stats is totally organic. All its ingredients were things I recognized- imagine that!
First off, I will make this product review super easy and say that every product I have tried from this line has left my hair smelling and feeling good. I love them ALL! So what I will do instead is highlight my absolute favorite products from this line.
First things first. Can we just take some time to mention how AMAZING these products smell?! Those of you who have boyfriends or husbands will definitely appreciate this. Of times the products that Naturalistas use leave much to be desired in the aroma department. However, you can sing hosanna, because this product line is here to our rescue. They smell amazing, you should check for yourself!
Here are my all-time favorite products from this line (but as I have mentioned, I love them all):
- Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Brilliant Curl Shampoo
- Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie (ALL TIME FAVORITE, I can’t live without this stuff)
- Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Co-Wash Conditioning Cleanser
Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Brilliant Curl Shampoo
Let me just say that this is the ONLY shampoo I have ever tried since I became natural that I absolutely love. Every single ingredient in this bottle is something I recognize, can pronounce and even spell (LOL). It leaves my hair feeling so soft, and it’s a shampoo! Usually shampoos dry out your hair. Sometimes your hair feels crusty even before you rinse it out. But this shampoo actually brings out my curls in the shower, leaves my hair soft and clean and it smells wonderful! Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie
Yes! Let me attempt to calm down lol. But I am so in love with this product. It even has sentimental value for me. I just remember as a new Naturalista I was having sooooo much trouble finding a product…just ONE product…that would leave my 4C low porosity hair soft. I was seriously getting discouraged. All those thoughts about not having “good hair” were starting to creep back into my life after my new “power to the people” high once I went natural. I forget how I even came across this product. I probably picked it up hoping that it would be one of those products that magically gave me curls I didn’t have lol (“Curl Enhancing Smoothie”). It didn’t give me crazy definition, but what it did do was make my hair feel like a pillow- for that I am eternally grateful. Over my years of being natural, my hair has responded differently to certain products. However, my hair remains true to this product. Ladies, listen to your hair. Do what it loves, and it will love you for it. I could write an article on this product alone lol, but let’s move on. (Product–> Thumbs up)
Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Co-Wash Conditioning Cleanser
So for those of you who do not know I am a co-washing junkie. I rarely shampoo my hair. I co-wash often enough, because I live a fairly active lifestyle. Co-washing is very important to me. It was extremely important to me to find a conditioner that is not too harsh on my hair, conditions my hair, but actually cleanses. This product does all three, and…it smells great lol. Ladies, go out and by this product line!!! Well, it worked wonders and is still working wonders for me. Hopefully, it will for you too.
Note: Within the Shea Moisture family there are sub hair care lines like Raw Shea Butter, Organic Yucca and Aloe and Organic African Black Soap to name a few. However, the line in this review is my absolute favorite. In my opinion, it is the only one that contains all recognizably beneficial ingredients. Ok, ok. I am done now. You get the point!
